Green Commute Program

Concept
The County of Marin's successful Green Commute Program first established in the fall of 2007, has been a great incentive to County of Marin employees opting to make green alternative-commute choices. However, like most communities across the nation, Marin County is adapting to a new economic reality. Marin County Board of Supervisors recently approved a 50% reduction in the Green Commute Program's incentive payments. The daily stipend for regular and extra hire employees who walk, bicycle, car or vanpool, or ride transit to work is $2 per day effective July 11th, 2010.

Forms
Qualified employees will be required to register once, and then to submit a participation form for each bi-weekly period in which they are eligible for the stipend. The registration form will provide information about the employee including the employee's department, individual commute and past commute practices. The participation form will list the qualified "green" commute modes the employee used during a two week pay period. Links to sample forms are listed below:
