Soliciting and Sales Policy
Soliciting and Sales in MCFL Branches
I. Soliciting
The following uses are expressly prohibited in Library space: buying, selling, advertising, or trading products or services (for cash or other consideration, except in support of the Library.
The Library shall be the exclusive interpreter of what constitutes an acceptable use.
II. Tutors
Tutors may provide educational services in branch facilities but they may not advertise or solicit in the libraries.

III. Sales in connection with library programs
If a program is sponsored by a Friends of the Library group, related merchandise may be sold in the library on the day of the program. The Friends group must receive at least 10% of the funds received and Library staff may not be involved in the sales process.
IV. Selling Outside the Library
Performers (and others) may legally sell on Library property outside the library building if:
They are sponsored by the Library Friends group and provide at least 10% of the funds received to the Friends group.
OR
They have solicitation permits from the appropriate city or county authority.
