Message from the Director

Have you visited the library recently? If not, you are missing out on the most happening place in Marin. Our numbers tell the story. . .

Last year 1,143,414 people came through our doors. More than 1,678,000 books and DVD's went home with our patrons to help, educate and entertain them. Our public use computers launched 235,000 sessions. Our librarians answered more than 157,000 questions in person, by phone, by e-mail. More than 130 Literacy students advanced enough in English to begin reading with their children and 9 became proficient enough to pass the U.S. citizenship test. Summer Reading programs for kids, teens and adults drew literally thousands of participants. Gail Haar, Library Director

In these challenging times, your library is here for you. Come in and check it out for yourself.

Gail Haar

Director of County Library Services
