information on business start-ups as alternatives to unemployment.

a business, John DeGaetano, Certified Business Advisor from the Redwood
Empire Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has scheduled sessions at
the Novato Library, aimed specifically at Novato professionals looking for a
change.

to thousands of free, full-text magazines and journals—at your fingertips (literally).
Titles like Newsweek,
Time, and People are available at the click of your mouse
from the Library's Digital
Content webpage. No need to go to the newsstand or to buy dozens of
magazine subscriptions. Just come to the library's website, and you've got
it all right there!
Anyone can access the database of magazine
articles inside the library, and anyone with a card from any of the public libraries
in Marin can access EBSCO from home, work, or school. Just go to the Library's
Digital Content webpage, click on the link to EBSCO
Combined Search under Magazines and Newspapers, and log in with your name,
library card number and PIN.

months? Before you pay full price, come check out our Summer Reading Cart--we've
got the titles on lists for lots of Marin County schools. Volunteers are keeping
the book cart stocked with all the selections we can find in our inventory--come

75 cents to $4 (most around $1-2), you can't beat it!

Read to a Dog~
Kids can read to a dog in the Library's Children's Room. Sponsored by
the Marin Humane Society, kids age 5-9 are invited to practice their read-aloud
skills in 10 minute sessions. The dogs are trained to help children relax
and enjoy the read-aloud experience--great for kids who are reluctant

The Marin County Free Library Bookmobile visits geographically isolated
communities throughout the County. Most stops are made twice within a four-week
period each month. Copies of the Bookmobile schedule are available at all
