Facilities Master Plan Update: What's Ahead?

The Marin County Free Library is in the midst of planning short and long-term improvements to its facilities and services. A first round of community meetings was held throughout the County in January to gather input. A second round of meetings occurred in March to discuss draft recommendations for services and options for facility improvements.

Come join us in planning for your community . . .

These images were taken by San Francisco photographers, Haydn Lothers and Ralph Young who had a studio at 165 Post Street. Highlights include the Mill Valley train depot with the Mt. Tamalpais and Muir Woods Railroad; hikers on Mt. Tamalpais; Hotel Sausalito; San Rafael High School; Baltimore Park, Larkspur; and Harlan Hall, Marin Junior College (now College of Marin).

South Novato Library has increased its hours!

The library will now be open from Noon to 8, Tuesday and Thursday; and from 10 to 5 Wednesday and Saturday.

WebPAC Pro is here

MARINet has loaded the current version of the online catalog. The new version, called WebPAC Pro, sorts keyword search results by relevance. This means that a search for the word "bicycling", for example, will show nonfiction books about bicycling first, with less relevant titles listed later. The user may re-sort by date or title, and subsequent searches will use that sort method.
WePAC Pro shows 50 items per page and offers patrons the option of rating books and other items.

Civic Center Library Resource Guides

New resource guides from the Civic Center Library! The Civic Center Library has compiled two new resource guides, Women’s History and Resources on Buying a Car. Each guide highlights Civic Center Library books, periodicals, databases, and other resources, and includes a list of recommended websites. See the Civic Center Library branch resources page for more guides and recommended reading.
