The Marin County Free Library is in the midst of
planning short and long-term improvements to its facilities and services.
A first round of community meetings was held throughout the County in January
to gather input. A second round of meetings is coming up in March to discuss
draft recommendations for services and options for facility improvements.
The G-Channel presents an interview with Carol Starr, Director of County

The One Book One Marin community reading program launched on Jan. 17th at Book Passage with a talk by Isabel Allende, author of Daughter of Fortune, this year's One Book One Marin selection.
There was a press conference at 6 pm and then the appearance by Isabel at 7 pm.
The crowd spilled over into the aisles and the entire store. Michael Krasney introduced Isabel Allende to the crowd of 200 or 300 people,
then she talked about writing the book and answered questions from the audience. Afterwards she signed books. The evening was filmed by Comcast for their Comcast on Demand programs.
Many unique events are planned throughout the county in February, March and April to celebrate reading and community dialog. Check out the beautiful new website for a complete list.
