William Glenn Courtright (1903-1989)

William is a long-time resident of Larkspur where his mother, Mary Kelly Courtright, was the
City Clerk for 28 years and the Postmaster for 11 years. William talks about his family and
growing up in Ross Valley, and takes us on a trip to places and homes long since gone. This
interview is filled with warm reminiscences of the railroads and ferries and documents people
and lifestyles in Marin during the 1920s and 1930s. Included are descriptions of Larkspur,
Kentfield, Greenbrae, and the Ross Valley.
