Robert Gunn (1909-1987)
Interview date: April 20, 1976
Robert Gunn Robert is the former mayor of Sausalito and his father also served as mayor. Robert narrates the history of his family who came to California in 1854 and has lived in Sausalito since 1899. In 1903, Robert’s father built a five-bedroom house at 22 Sunshine Avenue, which, as of this interview, is still standing. Robert recalls the growth of Sausalito, changes there since the Golden Gate Bridge, and recommendations he has for the future of his hometown.
