Ralph Grossi (1949- )
Interview date: September 22, 1982
Ralph Grossi Ralph, the owner and operator of his family's Marindale Dairy in Novato, describes its daily operations. He also tells the story of his grandfather, Domingo, who came from Switzerland, and started the operation. As an accomplished dairyman, Ralph introduced innovative methods, namely one which converts manure into power. His concerns about the future of agriculture in Marin led him to head the Marin Farm Bureau. At the time of this interview he was Co-Founder and Chairman of the Marin Agriculture Land Trust (MALT), and went on to head the American Farmland Trust, an organization for farmland preservation.
