WRobert Brusatori (1906-1982)
Interview date: March 10, 1981
Robert Brusatori Robert, a native of San Rafael, began his career with the Marin Municipal Water District as a meter reader in 1920. Under legislation passed by the California Legislature, the Marin Municipal Water District was created as a consolidation of several smaller water companies in the area. The use of lakes and the construction of dams facilitated the use of water among the County’s growing populace. Robert’s interview provides insight into the history of water use and utilities management in Marin County; he recounts the role of the organization’s directors, managers, and engineers, as well as the effects of the 1975 drought and the continued need for water conservation.
