Lloyd Roach (1901-1981)
Interview date: June 27, 1979
Lloyd Roach A retired Wells Fargo banker and sugar refiner, Lloyd tells of his love of Marin. He specifically mentions the Dipsea Race, Willow Camp (now known as Stinson Beach), hikes and exploration of Mount Tamalpais, the early character of Stinson and Bolinas, old hotels and landmarks, the Alpine Club, and the history of the Olympic Club. An outdoorsman and a conservationist, Lloyd has done much to preserve and protect the lands which are now the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and the Point Reyes National Seashore.
