Interview date: February 19, 1982
|
Grace was born in Mill Valley in 1904. She was on the Board of the Marin Conservation League for 23 years. She shares her reminiscences of the four women who founded the organization in 1934: Caroline Livermore, Sepha Evers, Portia Forbes and Helen Van Pelt, and tells the story of the founding of Tamalpais State Park, Stinson Beach State Park, Samuel P. Taylor State Park, Tomales Bay State Park, Angel Island State Park, Richardson Bay State Park, and Kent Island Sanctuary. None of these parks would be in the public domain without the efforts of Grace and the League.
