Francis S. Rodgers (1902-1991)

Francis, whose family has been in Nicasio since 1866, is the grandson of Frank Rodgers, whose family ran the General Store in Nicasio for over 30 years. Francis describes his boyhood in Nicasio, recalling this store, the hotel, saloons, church, and school he attended. Francis describes his life in San Rafael as a businessman from 1920 until the time of this interview, then as a city fireman for 30 years, and his later involvement with the group “Sons in Retirement.”
