Floyd Longley (1909-1998)
Interview date: July 19, 1979
Floyd Longley Born on the Randall Ranch in Olema, Floyd was the son of Charles (Joe) Longley, the owner of a butcher shop in Bolinas. Floyd’s family has been in the Bolinas area since 1852. His maternal grandfather, Samuel Clark, was featured in Munro-Fraser’s 1880 book, History of Marin County, California. Floyd’s grandfather, George W. Longley, ran the sawmill at the Samuel P. Taylor paper mill. Since 1852, the family has resided at Gospel Flats, an area which they used to own. Floyd shares stories of the Bolinas area and local notables.
