Alice Albert Marcus (1898-1993)
Interview date: March 19, 1975

Alice Albert Marcus Alice is the daughter of Jacob Albert, a pioneer merchant and civic leader in San Rafael. She tells of her father's arrival in Marin in 1892, and his strong desire to succeed. She relates how her father started the first dry goods store in San Rafael, the Wonder Store, and later founded Albert’s Department Stores. Jacob Albert also contributed land for a park and donated a building to the Marin Boy Scouts.
