Branch
Activities: Nancy Davis reported:
(1) Fifteen teens participated in the
cartooning workshop. (2) Nancy wrote an
article for Twin Cities Times about the Summer Reading program which starts
next week. (3) Jana Haehl donated to the
library a copy of her book on the history of Corte Madera. M/s/c the Friends purchase 4 copies of the
book from the Corte Madera Foundation at a cost of $80. Two copies will be kept at reference
desk. (4) Nancy was undecided about how
we should celebrate Steinbecks’ 100th birthday. The State Librarian has asked that everyone
read The Grapes of Wrath on the same day.
Suggestions were – read and discuss, have those who lived through the
Depression tell their experiences, show the movie. Might want to suggest that copies of book donated to the Book
Shop be set aside and featured at the Shop.
