The California Libraries Catalog is a catalog of library holdings in California. It is part of WorldCat, a catalog of worldwide library holdings. You can view both the California Libraries Catalog and WorldCat through the California Libraries Catalog interface. MARINet is part of the North Bay Area and Wine Country group within the California Libraries Catalog.
Please search MARINet first! Many local holdings are not included in the California Catalog at this time.
When a MARINet library does not own an item that you want, you should first check the SuperSearch catalog where you can request an item and have it sent to your local library for pick-up at no cost to you. Delivery can take up to several weeks. Please see the SuperSearch webpage for more information.
When a SuperSearch library does not own an item you want, the California Libraries Catalog is another place to search. If you find an item in the California Libraries Catalog, please contact the Reference Desk of your local branch for information about placing an InterLibrary Loan request.
For books and microform items, there is a $5.00 non-refundable search fee. For periodical articles, there is a non-refundable $1.00 search fee. This fee does not guarantee receipt of an item. We cannot accept ILL requests for videos, audio books, music cassettes, DVDs, CDs, CD-ROMs, or items only available outside the U.S. The ILL process can take from 6 to 8 weeks, and sometimes longer, if an owning library does agree to lend an item. For more information on placing an InterLibrary Loan, please contact the Reference Desk of your local branch.
Please note that the California Libraries Catalog may not reflect accurate holdings. To ensure that an item is actually held by a library, it is best to check the library’s online catalog directly. Ask reference staff at your local library for assistance.
