Serving Marin, Napa & Solano. Offers support groups, information and resources, education, in-service training.
Buck Institute for Age Research
Research, education, events and volunteer opportunities.
CorStone
Offers a variety of support services, free of charge, for older adults, and their family members. Includes weekly groups for those coping with a life-threatening illness, coping with chronic illness or pain, caregivers or partners, spousal and general bereavement plus many other groups. Contact the Center for current listing. Also offers on-going visiting services for those who are homebound or hospitalized, extending a community of support for those facing isolation or lonliness. Blind and Vision Impaired of Marin
Offers support groups throughout Marin; monthly luncheons and cultural events that include transportation; information and referrals; a CCTV loan program; and volunteer services for Marin's low vision and blind residents to help them lead healthier, more rewarding lives. Russian American Community Services
Provides Marin Meals on Wheels : home delivered and congregate nutrition services; case management; counseling and information and referral services.
Consumer Credit Counseling Services
HUD approved, non-profit counseling service, offers assistance with debt management, budgeting, credit report review, housing education and financial planning.
Easter Seals

Employment Services (Senior Community Services Employment Program for Older Adults)
Helping low-income adults aged 55 and older with subsidized community services-based employment and opportunities for placement in regular employment after training. Operated by National Council on Aging.
Family Caregiver Alliance
Provides services to persons who are caring for a loved one with an adult-onset neurological impairment, including stroke, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's among other diagnoses. Services include care consultation, respite, legal consultation, information, education and counseling.

Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program (HICAP)
Provides free, unbiased information on Medicare, supplemental insurance, long-term care insurance, senior HMO plans and assistance with Medicare billing and claims. Home Care Consortium of Marin
HCCM is a consortium of the following agencies: The Divisions of Aging and Social Services in the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services, the Marin Center for Independent Living, and West Marin Senior Services. HCCM's mission is to provide quality, affordable home care for Marin county residents. Offers an online registry of home care workers.

Provides comprehensive care, education and services to the terminally ill or families dealing with loss and grief.
Housing Authority
Provides a variety of housing assistance programs for low and middle-income residents, owns and manages low-cost rental apartments and provides direct rental subsidies and low-interest home improvement loans to qualifying households. The Housing Assistline provides information and assistance on affordable housing,homelessness prevention services, transitional housing, furniture and clothing assistance, emergency food and utility and rental assistance. Institute on Aging, Support Service for Elders
Helps to determine the types of money management, health, and personal services needed by older adults, and arranges for or provides these services. Call 456-8692.
Jewish Family & Children's Services
Programs include counseling, case management, home care through Seniors At Home, housing assistance, conservatorship, transportation, telephone reassurance, senior companionship, groups or adult children of aging parents.
Legal Aid of Marin
Legal advice and representation for those unable to afford a private attorney; drop in clinic; hot line for seniors 60 and over, call 415-492-0230.
Lighthouse for the Blind & Visually Impaired (Rose Resnick)
An array of services for the visually impaired, including skills training and on-line store of adaptive products.

Marin Center for Independent Living
Assists persons with all types of disabling conditions to achieve their maximum level of sustainable independence as contributing, responsible and equal participants in society. Offers personal assistance, attendant care, housing services, access modification, advocacy and education, employment services, drug and alcohol recovery, peer counseling.
Marin Community Food Bank
Provides emergency food orders for families experiencing short term crisis and bags of food for low-income seniors.

Offers in-home mental health assessment, individual and group counseling,
Alzheimer's support group and senior peer counseling in English and Spanish.

Division of Aging and Adult Services
Planning and program development, education and advocacy for older persons in Marin. Administers state and federally funded programs. Operates Project Independence. Works closely with the Marin County Commission on Aging, appointed advisory board that meets each second Thursday monthly around the county. Produces the comprehensive housing resource guide, Choices for Living (PDF document).
Division of Health Services
Offers Preventive Health Care for the Aging, a health screening, education and health access program for well seniors residing in the community. Division of Social Services
For information on Adult Protective Services (APS) which investigates elder and dependent adult abuse, In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), providing home care for low-income eligible residents, the Ombudsman program which oversees nursing homes and Veterans Services.
Masters of Marin Volunteer Program

Northern California Presbyterian Homes and Services
Provides tax-free stipend volunteer opportunities for adults aged 60 years and over to visit older adults who need companionship or to mentor children with special needs.

Public Authority of Marin
Serving low-income older and disabled residents of Marin who require home-care services to remain safely in their homes through the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program.
Senior Access
Adult Day Programs for people with chronic illness, memory loss and /or dementia. An Outing Club for people with early stage memory loss, going to historical, cultural and outdoor destinations. Caregiver Support with resource information, referrals, and a support group; care is provided for loved ones with memory loss during the support group. Free legal advice over the phone to adults sixty years and older living in California.
