Marin County Fair: Always Fresh, Fun & Local
This year, the Marin County Fair, June 30 through July 4, will
celebrate the rich and varied traditions that have become the
foundations for fairs all across the United States. Originally
begun in the early 1800s as a way for farmers to find out about
new farming methods and equipment, agricultural fairs evolved
into annual family get-togethers where communities could enjoy
competitions, exhibits and entertainment.

Exhibit Hall 2012
The signature exhibit will feature the photography of M. B.
Boissevain, a farm advisor during the early 20th century
who documented agricultural practices of farms and ranches
throughout Marin County. These stunning photographs will be
put into a new historical retrospective of “then and now” images
with photographers returning to the places in 2012 where the
original images were taken and shooting new photos to show
how the areas appear now.
