Sarah Anker just completed her first year of law school at UC Davis and anticipates
receiving her Juris Doctorate in May 2013. In June, 2009, she received her BA from UC Berkeley.
Presently, she is a Web Archives Editor for the UC Davis Journal of International Law & Policy and serves
as a Know Your Rights Advocate with the National Lawyers Guild. Sarah has worked for a year at the Family
Violence Law Center in Oakland where she became a senior legal intake worker. Additionally, she has experience
working for the late Charles McGlashan, both on his campaign and in his office, where she co-created a
promotional video for Marin Clean Energy which was shown at the Sausalito Film Festival. She was instrumental
in the creation of Charles’ online presence which included spearheading various projects and events centered
on the rollout of Marin Clean Energy. Her internship with our office will be full time through the end of the
summer.

Chris Skelton began his internship with the County Counsel’s Office in May. Chris just completed is second year at University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he is currently pursuing his Juris Doctor with a concentration in Environmental Law and a Capitol Certificate in Public Law and Policy. He is expected to graduate in May 2012. Chris qualifies as a certified law student, so he may appear in Court. Chris hopes to practice environmental law, as demonstrated through his course selection, including International Environmental Law, Water Law, and Federal Public Land and Resources Law. Chris is a graduate of Duke University, where he received his BA in History and Japanese language. In his spare time, Chris is an accomplished Ironman triathlete. |

Sharyn Mitchell is attending Empire College-School of Law in Santa Rosa and is a candidate for Juris Doctor in May, 2014. She received her Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Dominican University in December 2000. She is an undergrad of UC Berkeley, with a BA in Architecture. For the past 3-1/2 years Sharyn has worked at Jaret & Jaret in San Rafael as a Legal Assistant. She is proficient in all aspects of arbitration, assisted in preparation of briefs, motions and responses, and she has an extensive legal research background. Previously Sharyn worked for 10 years as an Engineer II, Project Manager of Public Sector Capital Improvement Projects, for the City of Novato.

Moe Jamil completed his undergraduate work at U.C. Berkeley and graduated from the Santa Clara University School of Law in May of 2005. Most recently, he has been volunteering for the County Counsel’s Office in Santa Clara. Prior to that, he worked as a Deputy Attorney General at the California Attorney General's Office in San Francisco. In addition, he has experience in the Santa Clara Public Defender’s Office as well as the Sacramento County Public Defender’s Office. Moe will be coming into the office three days a week, gaining hands-on experience with dependency, probate, mental health and other matters as needed.

Fall 2010
Abigail Bridgman holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law which she earned while working full time as a paralegal in a small civil litigation firm in Kampala Uganda. Presently, Abigail is completing a no-degree accelerated course at Empire College School of Law in Santa Rosa required for foreign law students before they can apply and sit for the California Bar. Her main interest is civil litigation. Recently, she has volunteered at a non-profit organization with a bias towards women and children’s rights. Apart from English, she speaks basic French and Swahili and is also fluent in Runyankore, Rutooro, and Luganda, all native dialects of Uganda.
She says she is adventurous and loves hiking, camping, and gardening. She also enjoys photography, cooking, traveling and meeting new people.

Victoria Snyder is a recently admitted member of the California Bar, assisting with juvenile dependency issues part-time. She earned her JD at City University of New York School of Law (2009), a law school dedicated to “law in the service of human needs.” Victoria is a Bay Area native and graduate of Tamalpais High School and UC Berkeley with a BA in History and minor in Theater, Dance and Performance Studies. She has recently published in the Whittier Journal of Child and Family Advocacy. Victoria has worked as a volunteer law clerk with the Dependency Division of the Office of the Alameda County Public Defender, Disability Rights California, the Defender’s Clinic at Main Street Legal Services and is currently a Volunteer Attorney with the San Francisco VLSP Family Law Project. Prior to law school she worked as a mental health assistant at a non-public day treatment school, a CASA volunteer, a volunteer tutor at San Quentin Prison and a carpentry instructor at a summer day camp. Victoria enjoys rock climbing and new challenges.

Alexandra "Lexi" Louderback just completed her third year as a Business Administration student with a minor in law at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She is a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority – Delta Theta Chapter, where she serves as the financial vice president in charge of managing their budget. She is also a graduate of Marin Catholic High School (2007) where she maintained a 4.2 GPA and was on the Dean’s List all 4 years.
Brice Lynch, having completed his first year at George Washington Law School in Washington. D.C., Brice worked for us from May 17th – August 3, 2010, logging in a staggering 359.10 hours. He expects to earn his J.D. in May 2012, and is a Thurgood Marshall Scholar with a GPA of 3.444.
Brice is an undergrad of UC San Diego where he received his BS in Chemical Engineering. He has 4 years of experience working at the Ares Corporation in Oakland and has passed the Chemical Engineering/California Engineer-In-Training exam.
Brice is also very active in basketball and served as a referee in San Diego for all levels of teams from youth to adult leagues.

Katherine Mindel. Starting June 1, 2009. Katherine was a law clerk at the Santa Clara County Counsel's Office until the end of May, 2009. She will be with us for two days a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Katherine is a practicing lawyer, having graduated from Hastings in 2008. She completed her undergraduate work at Duke University in North Carolina, and has previously worked for the Sierra Club, U.S. Dept. of Justice, the California Coastal Commission, the District Attorney's Office in Manhattan, and for Congresswoman Pelosi. She speaks French and enjoys fly-fishing, downhill skiing, basketball, and running. Katherine will also be working with Jack Liebster in the Planning Dept. on Mondays and Wednesdays. |

Andrea Pierotti. Starting on May 25, 2009. Andrea will be with us Monday – Friday, from 8:00 – 4:00. She will graduate with her JD this December from Santa Clara University School of Law, and earned her B.A. at Mills College. She is a published author, having co-authored an article on wills with Charles Riffle, Esq. which will be published in the Calif. Trust & Estates Quarterly this winter. She has been working for Mr. Riffle’s firm since 2004. Last summer, she was a law clerk at the Santa Clara County Counsel’s office. The summer before that, she was a judicial intern for the Hons. Eugene Hyman and Mary Ann Grilli in the Santa Clara County Probate Court. She also has strong experience as an editor, writer, and proofreader. |

Rana Ansari is a newly-admitted member of the California Bar who received her J.D. from UC Hastings College of the Law (2008) and a B.A., with honors in International Relations, French and Psychology, from UC Davis (2004).
Prior to volunteering at the Marin County Counsel’s Office, Rana was a judicial extern at the Marin County Superior Court, and a law clerk at the Mill Valley office of Nielsen Merksamer. During law school, Rana did a semester-long legislative externship in the Office of California State Senator Joe Simitian (D-Palo Alto); she also worked, on several elections, for the San Francisco Department of Elections.
Rana speaks French fluently and Farsi, her native tongue, proficiently. Rana has lived, studied, worked and traveled abroad extensively. In 2004, Rana was a political-section and Ambassador’s-Office intern at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, France. She was also a teaching assistant, and taught conversational English to French junior-high students in low-income schools.
Rana’s hobbies include long-distance running, working out, eating, reading interesting magazine/newspaper articles, watching movies, traveling and learning new languages and interacting with people from different cultures, and spending time with family and friends. |

Summer Law Interns
2008
Jasmine Davaloo grew up in Marin County and attended Redwood High School. She graduated cum laude and with College Honors from University of California, Los Angeles in 2006, where she majored in Political Science with concentration in International Relations and Law. She is currently a second-year student at University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. This is Ms. Davaloo's first summer at the County Counsel's Office as she begins her legal experience as a law student. During this time, she has received great exposure to a variety of legal areas, including employment law, constitutional rights, probate, and tort - liability, to name a few. She has composed complaints, motions, and legal memoranda, and has attended state and federal court hearings, depositions, and ADR meetings. Her experience at the County Counsel's Office has heightened her interest in employment law and labor relations. She hopes to pursue this area of law further and return to our office next summer. |

Erin Barni is a long-time resident of Marin County. She is a Marin Catholic High School alum and subsequently graduated from the University of Southern California cum laude in 2006. She is currently in her third year at Santa Clara University School of Law. This is Ms. Bami's second summer working as a legal intern for the County Counsel's Office. Between the summers of 2007 and 2008, she has acquired a healthy scope of legal experience, including drafting trial briefs, motions, and resolutions, as well as honing her legal researching skills. She has had the opportunity to work on projects involving countering inverse condemnation liability, striking false judgment liens, and barring the sale of tobacco products in pharmacies, to name a few. As a result of her experience with the County Counsel's Office, Ms. Barni has concentrated her studies in the public interest sector. She is looking forward to one day practicing as a criminal prosecutor. |
