WELCOME!

The Marin County Employees' Retirement Association (MCERA) was established July 1, 1950, for employees of the County of Marin pursuant to provisions of the County Employees' Retirement Law of 1937 (California Government Code sections 31450 through 31897). MCERA administers retirement benefits for ten public employers within the County of Marin.

We have recently reformatted our website to make important information easier to find. Please use the links at the top of the page for site navigation.

Our new Service Retirement Brochure and Disability Retirement Brochure provide an overview of our internal processes, as well as answers to commonly asked questions. Brochures are available from our office, or you can download copies from our Informational Publications page.

Pre-retirement seminars are available on the following days:

Active and retired MCERA members: check your mailboxes! Our Winter newsletter has been mailed. Additional copies are available from our office.

No statement in this electronic document is considered a legally binding interpretation, enlargement, or amendment of the provisions contained in the County Employees' Retirement Law of 1937 or By-Laws of the Board of Retirement. Those provisions control all rights and benefits provided for each member, retiree, and qualified beneficiary.
