Community Health Division: HHS is in the process of planning a transition to consolidate the Divisions of Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, with the Prevention Hub and Public Health Programs into a single Community Health Division. During the first half of the 2012, we will develop a roadmap to guide the transition process over the next several years.
Goal: To become an organization that provides all clients easy access to comprehensive, integrated health care services, mental health services, and substance use services.
Framework for Transition Planning:
Ensure that services are client-focused
Integration should be responsive to a variety of federal and state policy shifts towards integration
Maintain an open, inclusive, and transparent planning process that includes input from all stakeholders
Develop upstream policies and practices that prevent avoidable disease and disability
Engage community partners in our mission based activities
Build our capacity to respond to expanding needs while becoming financially smaller
