North Bay Childcare Center’s-Garden of Eatin’ is a non-profit, community supported organization that provides a nurturing environment for children that foster their well being. To this end, the project has been working with the Nutrition Wellness Program in order to develop a “best practice” for early childhood” nutrition and physical activity education. The goal was to develop a new philosophy for teaching and developing the taste buds and eating habits of children early in life. Thus, the Garden of Eatin' has become the vehicle to help introduce children to ‘fresh from the garden’ selection of fruits and vegetables that the child might not ordinarily experience. NBCC also partners with, and is the training center for, other North Bay children's centers including Hamilton Children’s Center, Novato Children’s Center and the Marin Head Start Hamilton.
