This document is intended to be a primary source of information for policy makers, physical educators, pub health physical activity specialists, health providers and the public on the amount, types, and intensity of physical activity needed to achieve many health benefits. This is a list of contacts and resources in Marin that offer various aspects of physical activity. Some of the community organizations listed are members of our Marin Wellness Collaborative whose mission is to promote physical activity and healthy choices for Marin County residents and help to achieve the goal of every Marin resident to eat healthy foods and be physically active.
LIFT for Teens
LIFT for Teens' unique
offering provides a comprehensive program of fitness, nutrition and lifeskills
mentoring for overweight and unfit children who do not have access to
the resources to overcome their health challenges. Local children, teens
and their families will regularly interact with our supportive, qualified
and well-trained staff while learning how to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
