Welcome

The mission of the Marin County Medical Reserve Corps is to develop partnerships within Marin County medical profession (active and retired) that aid in the education, training and deployment of citizen volunteers and resources in the event of a large scale, local emergency.

The vision of the Marin Medical Reserve Corps (MMRC) is to enlist citizen volunteers to assist in the establishment of an organized pool of resources capable of being deployed to support Emergency Management Systems already in place in the event of a major emergency.

The goal of the MMRC will be that of a support role in providing volunteer medical professionals and resources to augment those services in the community that are engaged in the health and welfare of the citizenry.

Representatives from the Marin MRC recently attended the Annual Western Region MRC Conference September 18-19, 2008 in Ketchikan, Alaska. At this conference, which has 100+ representatives from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska, they were tasked with a presentation on START Triage. MRC Coordinator, Brian Waterbury, who lead this very successful training class, also accepted a commendation from the Surgeon General's Office (see below).
