The Throckmorton Ridge Fire Station is the department's new addition. This station is located adjacent
to Mount Tamalpais and it is situated in a crucial location for the
inevitable urban-interface fire that may occur in the proximity Mill Valley.
Urban-interface describes area where homes interface with wildland vegetation,
creating dangerous situations like those that contributed to the Oakland Hills
and Mount Vision Fires.
Areas served:
The unincorporated area surrounding
Mill Valley, Muir Woods, Tamalpais State Park, and provide mutual aid to Muir
Beach.
Services include:
Basic life support medical services,
wildland and structural firefighting, response to traffic accidents, hazardous
material response and more.
