Marin County proclaimed a local emergency on April 12, 2006 for the series of storms that have been impacting us beginning April 10th and have resulted in significant landslides and damage throughout the County. The County of Marin has additionally requested the Governor to proclaim Marin County to be in a State of Emergency.
There is no financial assistance available to individual residents or business owners for any damage that has occurred as a result of these recent storms.
The President did declare California a major disaster for the New Year’s Eve storms and authorized individual assistance, public assistance, and post disaster hazard mitigation funds for Marin County. The deadline for submitting applications for Federal financial assistance specific to damage resulting from the New Year’s Eve storm was April 4, 2006.
