Intent:
Reduce air pollution from old, pre-1991 wood-burning stoves and inserts in Marin County
Requirements:
Non-EPA Phase II certified wood burning heaters or wood burning fireplaces will not be allowed to be added in new construction, additions or remodels of any size. Pellet-fueled and gas appliances will be allowed.
Pay fee on square footage of project.
Removal of non-EPA Phase II certified wood stoves and inserts for all remodels and additions over 500 sf and all homes by July 1, 2008.
