Wood Stove Rebate Program

Intent:
Reduce air pollution from old, non-EPA certified wood-burning stoves and inserts in Marin County.

Requirements:

  • Ordinance 3395: Wood Smoke Reduction Ordinance
  • Non-EPA Phase II certified wood burning heaters or wood burning fireplaces will not be allowed to be added in new construction, additions or remodels of any size. Pellet-fueled and gas appliances will be allowed.
  • Removal of non-EPA Phase II certified wood stoves and inserts for all remodels and additions over 500 square feet and all homes.
