For Contractors

Energy Upgrade California encourages homeowners to think about their home working as a complete system, a "whole house," rather than focusing on individual elements within a house. Homeowners will be encouraged to undertake a home performance assessment to determine which upgrades are best for their house. They will have a choice of energy upgrade options eligible for rebates, from basic energy-efficient weatherization, insulation and sealing of their house, to other options such as installing energy-efficient windows, tankless water heaters, cool roofs, and efficient air conditioning and heating systems.

Participating contractors will receive:

  • The benefit of a full-scale, countywide media launch
  • Placement of company name and information on the program website
  • Access to the statewide website for creating alliances between general and specialty contractors
  • A marketing toolkit with program brochures, marketing collateral and multimedia presentations for customers

Click Here to learn how you as a contractor can participate.

Marin County Tool Lending Library

The Marin County Tool Lending Library (TLL) loans building measurement equipment free of charge to qualified Marin County professionals working on short term energy efficiency projects. There are special considerations or borrower qualifications for the equipment in the TLL.

The TLL is made possible through a partnership with the Marin County Department of Health and Human Services, Employment and Training. Funding was provided through a grant from the California Clean Energy Workforce Training Program for development of services to identify and train for employment opportunities in green energy occupations.

The Tool Lending Library program focuses primarily on residential projects. These tools are only made available to home performance professionals (see TLL Policy or click here for a link to Marin Builders website)
