HOUSING: Current Efforts
The lack of workforce housing remains one of the most critical issues facing Marin today. For a good
overview of the issue and pertinent challenges and opportunities, please refer to the "NorthBay Housing
Crisis" link
Affordable Housing - I advocate for affordable housing throughout Marin, most recently in Point Reyes
Station where a lengthy, community based process by the Ecumenical Association for Housing has led to a
proposal for a 36 unit housing development.
The need for a coordinated effort by the County of Marin and other proponents of affordable housing has
led to the creation of a Housing Strategist position, staffed by Barbara Collins.
Past Efforts
Identified a previously untapped real estate transfer tax to provide $250,000 per year for the affordable
housing "Housing Trust Fund"
