BIOGRAPHY - Catherine Lloyd Rice
Katie was raised in Mill Valley by parents Jim and Pamela Lloyd, graduating from
Tamalpais High School in 1978. She attended Sonoma State University and received
degrees in Liberal Studies and English. She is also a graduate of the 31st class of the
Marin Environmental Forum.
Katie lived and worked in West Marin and West Sonoma from 1981 – 1995, before
settling in San Anselmo where she has resided for the last 16 years.
Katie has three children, Kellam, 24, Jamie, 21, and Aiden, 14.
Katie also has two dogs (one very old, one very immature), one cat, a horse (actually her
daughter’s), many bikes and remembers fondly her chicken, Prudence, whose untimely
death has left the backyard garden much less interesting.

- Currently represents District 2 on the Marin County Board of Supervisors
- 2004 – 2011: Administrative Adie to Marin County Supervisor Harold C. Brown,
serving as lead staff on transportation, public works, public safety, and
environmental issues and initiatives
